Weekend Cozy!

Happy Friday  - it is here at last and in New York, the weekend promises to be blustery, rainy and bit grey.  Truth is, this weather is so romantic and the dramatic change with the whistling sounds of the wind blowing, the fresh smell of rain and the cool damp air  -  totally gives me a guilt-free reason to cozy up in my favorite jammies with a good book, some hot cocoa, a stack of magazines and comfort food while sitting in front of the fireplace - or stay in bed - ah bliss!  Here's to a great weekend!

Camping In

Architizer is a site dedicated to great architecture and design.  It is my go to site when I want to explore who is doing what architecturally around the globe.  I have expressed ad naseum my love of treehouses and camping out.  These pre-fabricated single family homes called Cabanas Morerava in Isla de Pascua, Chile are a great example of clean, simple and yet stylish living that blends in with nature quite naturally.

Although Valentines Day is a day dedicated to love, love should be celebrated and  is in our lives everyday!   Let's choose to love each other and life and thank God that we have the ability to do so.  We should be ever so grateful for all of the love that is in our lives.  The love of God, family, friends and even strangers is everywhere - if you choose to embrace it!  So, here's to celebrating love and perhaps changing the way that we view the day - it is afterall a day for lovers, lovers of life.  Think of some of the loves of your life, large and small -  here are a few things on my current list and it's embarrassingly long.  Here's to creating yours!

Scrolling around

Scrolls have always been a design element that I love and is often seen in Spanish ironwork which I also love!  The whimsical curves and flourishy movement add a bit of romance and fun to any design.  Diane Von Furstenberg has created a combination of beautiful scroll prints in her Spring 2011 RTW collection - not to mention the striking color combinations.  These outfits have me jetting off to Spain for a weekend stroll - and how fabulous will I look, yes?
