Declaration of Independence!

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary to occasionally enjoy oneself, and this weekend that is hopefully what you will declare to do - I know I will!  As you reflect on the meaning of the 4th of July and then quickly shift those thoughts to how to pack in as much fun as a 3 day summer weekend offers, perhaps these images will spark a few ideas!

Weekend pitch!

❤As a child I remember loving tents - a place where you could create your own fantasies,  to escape from the adult world and hide in your imaginary one.  We would take a broom or 2 and some sheets and books to anchor the ends and eureka!  Now, tents for children have come a long way and are a bit pricier than our homemade creations.  So if you are not feeling creative, here are a few cool ones to purchase.

Summer reading...

I met Adriana Trigiani years ago while working at The Today Show.  She was and I suspect still is, my kind of woman - fiery, smart, wickedly funny, mildly raucous, bold, friendly and with a big personality.  Since neither of us was shy, we instantly connected and chatted each others ears off.  We made shopping dates and plans to hang out in the city - and, if both of our schedules were not so insane, I suspect that we would have honored them.  But, in typical NY fashion, I remained connected to her through her books and occasional mailings.  Now however, my connection to her will be by reading all of her books this summer - yes, all of them!  I have them all and will shamefully admit to only reading two - and what a great read they were!  So, I am currently reading Brava Valentine.  I find that summer is a time when we slow down and do some of the things that we love and perhaps connect with those that we love - or their art -  Brava Adriana!
