The Grand Monumenta

There is always a reason to go to Paris, but lately my desire stems from the latest installation by conceptual artist Daniel Buren at The Grand Palais.  The Grand Palais, which ordinarily has an architecturally stunning nave, has yet again been transformed beyond recognition - it's an all new experience.  Unlike last year's monstrously large and light reducing Leviathan installation by artist Anish Kapoor, Mr. Buren has not only embraced the bright sun that typically streams through the glass ceiling, but he enhanced it with his translucent circles in an array of bright colors. Plainly put, it's a colorful and joyous place to be.  Monumenta will run until June 21 - let's get to Paris!
