Gone Chandelier-ing

Chandeliers are one of my favorite design items to include in almost any room - I had one hanging over my tub in my bathroom - it was so romantic!    Chandeliers add a touch of elegance to any environment.  They work everywhere - in a bedroom, living room, kitchen, foyer and even your garden.   I am currently searching for one to add to my sisters pergola in her backyard.  These 2 chandeliers that I found at ABC Carpet  are stunning and may have served as inspiration for both Aquilano Rimondi & Mathew Williamson's  beautiful Spring 2012 collections - the whimsical scrolling details in the chandeliers are mimicked in the patterns of these dresses.  Chandeliers do not have to be expensive - you can fish for them at thrift stores, antique shops or outdoor markets.  This Spring - go chandelier-ing!

Owls - that's who!  They have become my new obsession.  So, I've decided that this year is the year of the owl - why not?  Who couldn't could use a little extra wisdom - and aren't these cute?

Letting Nature Take Its Course

The first week of Spring in New York was beautiful!  The temperatures felt more like early summer and has everyone rushing to do their gardening.  I too was out today showing my garden some love before I realized -  it's March!   So instead of prematurely turning on our sprinklers like my neighbors have, I will wait for April showers to bring May flowers and not attempt to rush things.  This weekend I will let nature take its course - have a happy one!

Who said there's no such thing as a free ride in New York?  Last week Jeff Lewis offered a fleet of decorated taxis for free to promote his new show Interior Therapy and New Yorkers were "flipping out" -  oh, that's the name of his other show.   Most of his fans would have watched this new one anyway - but, thanks Jeff for the free ride to Grand Central!  Interior Therapy airs on Bravo on Wednesday nights and as usual, is quite entertaining.  

Flowering!

The beauty of early Spring is that everything is flowering.  Spring is the time to surround yourself with flowers!  The Duro Olowu Spring 2012 collection has me inspired to do just that - and get some of his beautiful dresses.  Happy Spring!
